Woohoo!

Fin reached the end of eight weeks of restriction!  He has made so much progress we let him off leash on Christmas morning and he had so much fun!  I think he forgot what sticks tasted like, and how much fun they are to destroy.

While his rehab isn't over, he is very close to completely healed.  He has no limping, pain, or restrictions in movement in that knee!   Time for Phase 2.

Soooo Close

We are very close to the end of eight weeks of no playing, no running, no long walks, and no being off leash.  It has been a long seven weeks, but Fin is feeling great!  The only time it seems to bother him is when he's pooping, so he holds it up occasionally.  Christmas Day should be the day he gets to go free in the yard a bit more.

Just this last week (week 7) he has been begging to do things.  He really wants to run and play.
We are doing range of motion exercises, stretching, and walks daily.  Just yesterday we started walking small hills and going for slightly longer walks.  He is a very happy dog and I can't wait to let him free again.

The games we play.

This is the end of week 6.  It's been a very long 6 weeks and I can't believe we are nearing the end of 'strict' restrictions.  This is one of the tricks Fin learned to help him do something other than be bored.

The next tricks we are going to work on involve foot work, such as walking sideways, or stepping over something soft.  These 'tricks' will help Fin to learn where his feet are and they will also help him to strengthen any weak muscles in his legs.
